Meet our Minister to Students - Ackey Martinez
Ackey, a native of Hobbs, New Mexico, gave his life to Christ at the age of 25. He enjoys working with youth, helping them grow spiritually as they navigate the highs and lows of the teen years.
Ackey has a degree in religion and psychology from Eastern New Mexico University. He has been a youth minister for 17 years, serving the past seven here in Brownfield.
He and his wife Lajuana have two children, Adrian (27) and Chris (20). Ackey loves golf, softball and all sports in general. In his free time, he enjoys gardening.
His favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31:
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
